The Piedmont Regional Library seeks applicants for a part-time Library Aide position for the Winder Public Library. This Aide works 13 hours per week.

The Library Aide is responsible for shelving materials and maintaining order in the public area of the library. The Library Aide may also provide checkout, information, and support services for library patrons of all ages.

Qualifications include: Ability to learn the Dewey Decimal System and general organization of library materials; Ability to meet the schedule of the job including some evenings and weekends; Skill in meeting and working effectively with the public in a library setting; Ability to learn PINES automated library system; Computer and Internet skills; Good oral and written communication skills; Ability to push loaded book trucks up to 100 pounds and carry stacks of books up to 35 pounds; Ability to stand and be on feet for several hours at a shift; Some high school preferred; Some library or retail experience preferred.

The Piedmont Regional Library System (PRLS) seeks customer-service oriented applicants for a part-time Library Assistant/Teen Programmer position at the Winder Public Library. This person works 19 hours per week.

This Library Assistant provides programming for teens, including planning and conducting programming, and provides support for the Summer Reading Program.

Library Assistants are responsible for providing checkout, information and support services for library patrons of all ages. This includes providing computer assistance, shelving books, and other duties as assigned. This person is often the patron’s first contact for all aspects of library service.

Qualified applicants will have public library or retail experience. High school diploma required, some college preferred. PRLS will consider other combinations of education and experience that provide needed knowledge and skills. Assistants work some evenings and weekends.
