Piedmont Regional Library System’s Outreach Services serves a diverse population of patrons of all ages by sharing books and other resources throughout the region.

Outreach Services visits more than thirty public schools throughout Banks, Barrow and Jackson counties at least seven times during the school year. By working with media specialists and teachers at each school, deliveries are customized to meet the exact needs of students. In addition, Headstart programs are served by Outreach Services, as well as a variety of afterschool programs. Staff at Lanier Technical College have expressed appreciation for Outreach Services’ visits.

Outreach Services shares books and resources with those who might otherwise be forgotten. It visits most of the assisted living centers in the region, and all of the county senior centers. Residents appreciate loans of regular and large print books. Service to incarcerated individuals is accomplished by visits and deliveries to correctional facilities in the area. Since many patrons can’t come to the library, Outreach Services takes the library to them.
